About the event

We're excited to invite you all as Kayla and Alisa walk you through this carefully curated mindfulness practice we call PENS & PRANA.  We've designed a 3 part, hour long course that is intended to assist us in decluttering the brain while bringing a greater awareness to the body, mind and spirit. This practice is great for igniting our creativity, goal setting, and releasing anxieties. Alisa (The Pen) will guide us in a series of mindful journaling exercise , while Kayla (The Prana) will be leading a low impact flow that focuses on body awareness and breath work.

What You'll Need...

Kayla is a 200hr RYT and certified stretch practitioner, but she wasn’t always in the field of yoga.

Kayla spent many years working in the restaurant industry because she always had a passion for cooking

too. Kayla has a background in chemistry, anatomy and physiology so becoming a yoga teacher was in

her blood. She studied chemistry in hopes of becoming a forensic pathologist, but soon learned that she

wanted to be on the preventative side of health and wellness. Kayla’s background in chemistry and

anatomy helps her incorporate the knowledge of various muscles being targeted during different

asanas. Kayla is certified in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga where she gets to teach the challenging poses while

also incorporating deep breath work. Kayla is fun, energetic and loves to bring excitement to her classes!

When she is not teaching you can find her spinning around on her fitness pole, skating, travelling, or

learning new techniques to incorporate into her practice. Even though she is a teacher, Kayla will

forever be a student to yoga!

Alisa My earliest childhood memory is of my tiny hands scribbling shapes on to paper and pretending they were words. Writing has been a part of my life since I can remember and journaling is a practice that was passed down by my mother who has documented over 40 years of her life on to paper. In my early years, my writing journey was filled with transparent expressions of the things I was not allowed to say and the feelings that were muffled by adults that couldn't handle the questioning of traditions they swore never to question themselves. My safe place, my haven, has always involved paper and ink.
